Evansville Police are investigating a death after reports of shots fired in Evansville.

Officers were called to the 500 block of S Bedford Avenue around 8 a.m. Saturday morning.

Police say the person who reported the incident was uncooperative and unwilling to meet with officers for follow up questions.

Authorities say when officers arrived at the scene, the front door to the house was ajar.

EPD told 44News they discovered the body of a male inside the household who had possibly died a significant amount of time before the 911 call took place.

Crime Scene Units and Detectives were then called to the scene for an investigation.

The coroner is working on a cause of death.

The identity of the deceased male will be released after the family is notified.

This is an ongoing investigation.
