Evansville Police are investigating an early Saturday morning shooting.

EPD says officers heard multiple gunshots being fired from the 300 Block of Taylor Avenue around 1:15 a.m.

We're told as officers were arriving, dispatch advised there were several calls about multiple shots being fired in the same area.

EPD says when officers arrived, several vehicles were leaving the area and people were running and screaming someone had been shot. Police were directed where the victim was located in the 1400 Block of Judson Street.

EPD says they saw a white Honda CRV that had knocked over a fence and was wrecked into two houses. The victim was located inside the vehicle with what police say was a single gunshot wound to the head.

That's when officers began rendering aid to the victim and additional officers dealt with crowd control.

Authorities say this all stemmed from a birthday party being held on the 300 Block of Taylor Avenue.

EPD says approximately 50 shell casings were located throughout the 1400 and 1500 Block of Judson Street, along with several in the 200 and 300 Block of Taylor Avenue.

Police say there were at least three different caliber guns involved.

We're told the victim was taken to an area hospital where his condition is unknown at this time.

Police say no one has been arrested for the shooting at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call Evansville Police at (812)-436-7979, or call the We Tip Line at 1-800-78-CRIME

We headed out to cloudy skies and some damp conditions this morning across the Tri-State. We've been tracking scattered showers for the first part of the day. While it’s been mostly cloudy, there will be some sunshine as soon as we get the rain out of the area. Temperatures are still expected to reach unseasonably warm values this afternoon. With some sunshine and winds out of the southwest highs should have no problem reaching the upper 50s and lower 60s. Clouds will clear out, but the southerly wind flow will keep overnight lows in the low to mid 40s. Tomorrow morning won't be all that bad considering it will be December 2nd.
