The Evansville Police Department is getting into the swing of spring cleaning.
EPD's Crime Prevention Officers, or CPOs, were busy cleaning up graffiti around the east side of Evansville Tuesday.
The department said on Facebook that the CPOs stopped by Don's Cleaners on the east side of Evansville, where someone had vandalized the building with graffiti.
"If they find a business or two in the same area that has a lot of graffiti they want to get that eliminated right away because if they don't, it will just multiply," EPD Sgt. Nick Winsett explained. "And before you know it you'll have a whole part of the city that has multiple graffiti. And a lot of it is lewd, it's something that children do not need to be exposed to, don't need to see - as well as adults - so the quicker we can get this graffiti off of businesses, the better off we are."
EPD's CPO unit operates off of donations from businesses.
