An Eagle Scout from an Evansville Scouts BSA Troop is dedicating his scout project to local veterans.

Connor Day has been working on installing a flag pole at Friedman Park in Newburgh.

With the work finished up, the scout hosted an inaugural flag-raising ceremony in honor of Veterans Day that started at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

Several speeches were delivered before the raising of the flag, which was then followed by a three-volley salute from Newburgh's American Legion Kapperman Post 44.

We headed out to cloudy skies and some damp conditions this morning across the Tri-State. We've been tracking scattered showers for the first part of the day. While it’s been mostly cloudy, there will be some sunshine as soon as we get the rain out of the area. Temperatures are still expected to reach unseasonably warm values this afternoon. With some sunshine and winds out of the southwest highs should have no problem reaching the upper 50s and lower 60s. Clouds will clear out, but the southerly wind flow will keep overnight lows in the low to mid 40s. Tomorrow morning won't be all that bad considering it will be December 2nd.
