The Evansville City Council discussed a resolution at Monday's meeting calling to extend the mayor's COVID-19 Executive Orders through next month.

According to City Council President Alex Burton, the council discussed a resolution that shows support for Mayor Lloyd Winnecke's Executive Order that requires a permit for crowds of larger than 125 people. It also requires wearing a mask in most public settings.

If an event/gathering doesn't have an approved plan by the Vanderburgh County Health Department, local law enforcement will ask the attendees to leave. Refusal can lead to further action by law enforcement per city code.

The council is set to vote on the resolution at its next meeting.
