The moratorium on evictions from rental properties and the prohibition on filing foreclosures were extended through Aug 14 to align with the moratorium on the disconnection of utility services.

Now, the pause on foreclosures, evictions, and utility shutoffs has come to an end.

That's why the Reopen Evansville Task Force and the Evansville City Council are hosting a Rent and Utility Assistance "Re-Open House" on Saturday morning.

From 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, Evansville residents can head to the CK Newsome Center Main Gym.

There, residents will be able to ask questions and learn about resources from the following agencies:

  • Evansville Water & Sewer Utility - Payment Program Assistance
  • Vectren - Payment Program Assistance
  • Aurora, Inc. - Rental Assistance

Additionally, Feed Evansville will be at the event, distributing free dairy boxes to those in need.

Anyone attending the event will be required to follow social distancing guidelines and wear a mask when visiting the CK Newsome Center.

The CK Newsome Center is located at 100 Walnut St # 1, Evansville, IN 47713.

Our third day in a row with very mild temperatures. Highs across the Tri-State were in the low and middle 60's. A few showers at times crossed the area. A cold front will push through the Tri-State and will cause a few strong storms, that could have strong winds and even some torrential rain. Some flash flooding is a possibility. Strong winds overnight switching from the southwest to the northwest and may gust as high as 30 mph.
