A rare combination coming together today on franklin street in Evansville... beer and running.
Rise Up and Run, hosting the event saturday, which drew more than 100 runners who were sprinting, jogging, and walking to eight different bars.
Organizer say at each bar the runners could drink a beer.
This run began and ended at Leroy's Tavern. and participants were charged $30 each, with all the money going to local charities.
"We hosted this run today, and the organizer is Rise Up and Run, Jim Bush, and it's always done for a charity or two, so we always do a non-profit," said Terry Carl, owner of Leroy's Tavern. "With the covid this year we've had a lot of non-profits that havent gotten the dollars that they normally do from the public."
The runners ran a total of three miles and could drink one beer at eight different locations.
The next charity run will happen on Halloween, at the University of Evansville.
