Milk & Sugar Scoop Shoppe in Evansville, Indiana, is hosting a fundraising event for a Posey County deputy who was shot in the line of duty.

On Sunday, Oct. 17, the ice cream shop will hold the fundraising event from 12:00 p.m. noon to 8:00 p.m.

During that time, 50% of all proceeds will be raised for Posey County Deputy Bryan Hicks and his family.

The ice cream shop has two local locations: one at 2027 W. Franklin Street and another at Parker Settlement 10931 Hwy 66. You can pay a visit to either location to contribute to Deputy Hicks' recovery during the fundraising event.

Deputy Hicks was shot in the head in September while serving a welfare check. He has since undergone brain surgery and continues to recover.

We woke up to dry and cold conditions this Tuesday morning. Unfortunately, there won’t be any drastic changes this afternoon. Increasing cloud cover will be likely as a cold northerly flow continues ushering in chilly air. Highs won’t be going very far, we’ll likely only reach the mid to upper 30s Tri-State wide. We’re tracking a little bit of winter weather out to our north and west. Skies will be mostly cloudy tonight with a chance of flurries/light rain. It won't be a big snow by any stretch, but you could see some flurries flying Tuesday night into Wednesday morning around the Tri-State. Don't expect more than a dusting, with greater chances falling north of I-64.
