Evansville McDonald's Owners/Operators Chip and Katy Kenworthy took to Facebook Tuesday to share the sad news of long-time McDonald's employee Loraine Maurer's passing.

As they shared the news of her passing, the Kenworthys remembered Loraine fondly, making note of her dedication and commitment to serving others with "one of the most delightful smiles around."

Loraine was born in 1922 and began working for McDonald's in 1973 just past the age of 50, becoming a well-known member of the community in the process.

According to Chip and Katie, Loraine was so loved that she had a loyal following of guests that came to McDonald’s during her shifts specifically to see her.

"She had many friends and colleagues across various restaurants, including those on North Green River Road and Lynch in Evansville," the Kenworthys' post said Tuesday. "We are honored to have worked alongside her."

Loraine died on Friday, Feb. 12, at the age of 98-years-old.

You can dedicate flowers or share a memory of Loraine through the Zeimer Funeral Home website.
