Evansville Sports Corporation President Eric Marvin says the city will no longer be hosting the 2021 Men's Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Preliminary Round on May 14 - 16 at the Ford Center.
President Marvin says this comes as a result of the Federation of International Volleyball's decision to change the format of VNL to a "secure bubble concept."
The secure bubble concept aims to reduce the spread of COVID-19 among participants by accommodating all 16 VNL teams per gender in one country in a safe environment with frequent COVID-19 testing.
The City now looks to host the Men's VNL Preliminary Round in 2022.
Marvin hopes that by then, fans will have the opportunity to attend matches and enjoy the competition to the fullest.
