The Evansville Otters are just a few weeks from opening day.

After missing last year's Frontier League season due to health restrictions, the team will be back with a new look and renovations.

Bosse Field, the 3rd oldest active ballpark in America, has a new video scoreboard featuring a state-of-the-art graphics package, and new LED lights which will put on a light show after home runs this season.

According to the front office, that's the beginning of the changes, as longtime manager Andy McCauley plans to have a better team on the field this season

The Otters' season begins with spring training on May 12. The team's first home game will be played on Bosse Field on Saturday, May 29.

The combination of sunshine and southerly winds will make for another abnormally mild day throughout the Ohio Valley - expect an afternoon high temperature near 69° this afternoon. Friday evening looks as though it will be just as pleasant; after seeing the upper 60s earlier in the day, we'll dip to 60° by 5 PM before falling towards 54° around 7 o’clock. We are however, watching a passing low pressure system and accompanying cold front that is expected to pass through the Tri-State late Friday evening and early Saturday morning.
