The Evansville Police Department says National Night Out is back on in 2021 after previously being canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to EPD, National Night Out 2021 will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021.

The event is free and will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with food and drinks also provided at no cost.

EPD says that one major change this year is that National Night Out will be held at the CK Newsome Community Center in downtown Evansville.

For the past several years, National Night Out has been held at Wesselman's Park, but with several occasions where the event was canceled due to bad weather, the location change was made.

With the event scheduled at the CK Newsome Center, activities will be set up both indoors and outdoors.

This will be the 26th year that Evansville will be celebrating National Night Out, according to EPD.

Monday morning, we will see partly sunny skies with temperatures still in the mid 20°s. By the afternoon, we will be warming up into the mid 40°s with cloud coverage increasing. This is due to a cold front expected to traverse the tri-state overnight Monday.
