Evansville Police Investigating Shooting On Stringtown Road

One person was taken to the hospital following a shooting late Sunday evening.

Evansville Police continue to investigate a shooting late Sunday evening.

The shooting took place near the area of Stringtown Road and Enlow Ave.  According to dispatch, a call came in after 10PM Sunday evening on a group of people with baseball bats walking down the streets.  Moments later, after officers were dispatched, a second call said that there were shots fired in the area.

When Evansville Police arrived, they located a female who had a gunshot wound.  She was taken to Deaconess for treatment.

Evansville Police continue to investigate.

The Tri-State is about to witness a metric ton of change over the next 36 hours or so, but before we get to the meat of the forecast let's focus on the hearer and the now - after seeing an absolutely gorgeous start to the work week with afternoon highs nearing the 70° mark and little to no cloud cover, clear skies will linger through the evening ahead and into tomorrow morning as temperature gradually dwindle into the upper 30s and low 40s area-wide. We'll fall to 42° in Evansville setting the stage for yet another mild, albeit far less quiet Tuesday ahead.
