Evansville Police have named four officers as their Officers of the month for February.

Officers Ryan Eagleson, Nicholas Hackworth, Brian Aker, and Jacob Malcomson received the honor after dealing with an incident on February 8th involving a person with a gun in the Taco Bell parking lot off of Green River Road.

Police said that 26-year-old D Yawn Dontae Griffin called and threatened an employee at the restaurant, saying he would kill the employee at their work.

Griffin arrived at the parking lot with a gun.  The store locked the doors and called 911.

The officers arrived and addressed Griffin.  Officer Eagleson saw that Griffin was live-streaming the incident on Facebook while in his car.  The four officers de-escalated the situation and convinced Griffin to comply with their orders.  A loaded handgun was found in the open center console of the car.  He also had six handgun magazines and 117 rounds of ammunition inside his vehicle.

He is facing charges related to the incident.
