Evansville Police Respond to Liquor Store on Stabbing Report

Officers with the Evansville Police Department were dispatched to the Liquor Locker on Wednesday after a stabbing was reported.

According to the Evansville Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Liquor Locker on N Heidelbach Ave in Evansville on Wednesday around 6:30 p.m. on a stabbing report.

EPD says officers found the stabbing victim upon arrival, and that he'd been stabbed in the right shoulder area and was bleeding.

According to EPD, "many" witnesses at the scene said that the victim and the suspect had been in an argument that escalated. One witness said they saw the suspect pull out a knife, stab the victim, and then take off on a bike.

EPD said the suspect's bike was found at a local shelter, and the suspect was found inside the shelter and transported to police headquarters for questioning.

At this time, no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

EPD says the stabbing victim is expected to survive his injuries.
