One Hospitalized in Evansville Motel Shooting

A Friday morning shooting at a motel on Evansville's east side sent one person to the hospital.

One person was sent to the hospital after a Friday morning shooting in Evansville.

Officers with the Evansville Police Department responded to the America's Best Value Inn off of S. Green River Road on Friday morning after a shooting was reported around 1:00 a.m.

We're told that the shooting happened in a room on the second floor of the hotel and that one person was taken to the hospital for surgery after being shot once.

EPD said the man who was shot was hit in the shoulder, and that his injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening.

Police have not taken any suspects into custody at this time.

It was another cool, though overall pleasant day across the Tri-State - after only seeing temperatures dive as low as 22° early this morning, peak temperatures ended up climbing a few degrees higher than Thursday's; that being said, Evansville’s high temperature of 27° Was still 15° below average for this time of the year. As for the evening ahead, temperatures will gradually fall for 23° around dinner time back down to 19° by10 PM. A weak northerly wind flow most of the night paired with our crystal clear skies will cause temperatures to of fall back down into the mid to low teens once again - Evansville's anticipated low temperature of 12° will mark or coolest since the morning of January 7th.
