A Japanese restaurant on Evansville's north side has announced that it will soon close its doors permanently.

Iwataya Japanese Restaurant has been serving customers on Kentucky Avenue in Evansville for the last 20 years, but as a note posted on the restaurant's door explains, the establishment will be permanently closed at the end of January.

While the restaurant will soon close permanently, the Japanese grocery store connected to the restaurant's current location will continue to operate.
