Evansville Thunderbolts Hitting the Ice for First Home Game of the Season

Friday night's home game at the Ford Center will mark the first hockey match hosted in Evansville in over 18 months.

The Evansville Thunderbolts are returning to the Ford Center on Friday night for their first home game of the season.

Doors will open at 6:00 p.m., and the puck will hit the ice at 7:00 p.m.

Friday night's home opener will be the first hockey match hosted in Evansville in over 18 months since the Evansville Thunderbolts opted out of the 2020-2021 season over COVID-19 concerns.

In total, the Evansville Thunderbolts are scheduled to play 28 home games and 28 away games in the 2021-2022 season. You can check out the full 2021-2022 season by clicking here.

It was another cool, though overall pleasant day across the Tri-State - after only seeing temperatures dive as low as 22° early this morning, peak temperatures ended up climbing a few degrees higher than Thursday's; that being said, Evansville’s high temperature of 27° Was still 15° below average for this time of the year. As for the evening ahead, temperatures will gradually fall for 23° around dinner time back down to 19° by10 PM. A weak northerly wind flow most of the night paired with our crystal clear skies will cause temperatures to of fall back down into the mid to low teens once again - Evansville's anticipated low temperature of 12° will mark or coolest since the morning of January 7th.
