Evansville Water and Sewer Utility Lifts First Avenue Boil Advisory

A large boil advisory in the Evansville area has been lifted.

A boil advisory affecting a large portion of the First Avenue/North Park area in Evansville, Indiana, has been lifted.

Officials with Evansville Water and Sewer Utility said the advisory had been lifted as of Monday morning around 7:30 a.m.

EWSU Precautionary Boil Advisory Map

The advisory was issued five days ago while crews with the utility worked to repair a 24-inch water line. Water was also turned off in the area temporarily.

EWSU said the advisory was lifted after samples collected from the area showed no evidence of contamination.

Our third day in a row with very mild temperatures. Highs across the Tri-State were in the low and middle 60's. A few showers at times crossed the area. A cold front will push through the Tri-State and will cause a few strong storms, that could have strong winds and even some torrential rain. Some flash flooding is a possibility. Strong winds overnight switching from the southwest to the northwest and may gust as high as 30 mph.
