Evansville Water and Sewer Utility Resumes Late Fees and Shutoffs

The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility resumed late fees and shutoffs on Wednesday after previously suspending those penalties due to billing issues.

Late fees and shutoffs that were temporarily suspended by the Evansville Water and Sewer Utility (EWSU) resumed on Wednesday.

The utility company had previously suspended late fees and shutoffs for customers affected by a billing issue. Since the billing issue was resolved, late fees and service disconnections have now resumed.

EWSU says that there's still help available for customers who need more time to pay their bills.

Customers who need more time to pay past due amounts can call EWSU Customer Service at 812-436-7846 to make payment arrangements and avoid additional fees.

You can also visit and click on "Account & Billing," and then select "Payment Arrangements."

Wow!!!! It's cold!!!! After a trace of snow in Evansville and some highe amounts to the south, we're waking up to temperatures in the mid to upper teens across the Tri-State. Thankfully, road crews did a fantastic job treating the roads to keep conditions from getting slick. However, the northerly winds gusting as high as 15 to 20 mph has dropped wind chill values into the single digits and even below zero in our western communities. There won't be much of an improvement in temperatures this afternoon. With the strong northerly wind flow and dry skies our highs will only reach the mid to upper 20s. Winds will stay quite breezy keeping the wind chill factor in place through the day.
