Evansville Woman Arrested After Fatal Hit-and-Run on Fulton Avenue

A 25-year-old Evansville woman has been arrested in connection to a fatal hit-and-run that took place just over two weeks ago on N. Fulton Avenue.

An Evansville woman is being charged in connection to a fatal hit-and-run that happened on Fulton Avenue about two weeks ago.

25-year-old Kelsey Ritter of Evansville, Indiana, was arrested and charged with Hit-and-Run Causing Death in connection to the fatal hit-and-run that took place on Aug. 8 in the area of N. Fulton Avenue.

The Evansville Police Department says Ritter was arrested on Monday evening after a felony warrant was issued for her arrest.

The Vanderburgh County Coroner had previously said that 63-year-old John D. Knight had died as a result of the incident after being struck by a vehicle and found lying in the road in critical condition, but until now, no arrest had been made in connection to the case.

Ritter remains booked in the Vanderburgh County Jail on a $10,000 bond. Her initial court hearing is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.

Wow!!!! It's cold!!!! After a trace of snow in Evansville and some higher amounts to the south, we're waking up to temperatures in the mid to upper teens across the Tri-State. Thankfully, road crews did a fantastic job treating the roads to keep conditions from getting slick. However, the northerly winds gusting as high as 15 to 20 mph has dropped wind chill values into the single digits and even below zero in our western communities. There won't be much of an improvement in temperatures this afternoon. With the strong northerly wind flow and dry skies our highs will only reach the mid to upper 20s. Winds will stay quite breezy keeping the wind chill factor in place through the day.
