The Franklin Street Events Associations has canceled their annual Trick-or-Treating due to the spread of COVID-19.
A week ahead of Halloween, the association made the announcement on their Facebook page.
The decision comes as Vanderburgh County continues to see an escalation of Coronavirus cases. On Friday, the area added 118 new cases and reported the 61st death in the community.
In the past, crowds of families have come out to the event; taking part in Trick-or-Treating and other Halloween activities offered by the area businesses.
FSEA says the event will be back "bigger and better in October 2021!"
The association is also canceling their monthly meetings through the end of the year.
