Evansville families struggling to make ends meet receive more relief as a community food share program is extended through the end of the year.

Each Monday, Feed Evansville will continue providing those food options to families in need at Harke Pool from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM on a first come first serve basis.

According to organizers, the variety of items offered weekly includes fresh produce, milk, and meat, though due to new regulations, the number of boxes distributed to individuals may vary each week based on supplies.

The efforts to provide fresh produce and dairy products to area families are part of the USDA's Farmers to Families initiative.

The next Food Share event is taking place on Monday, Nov. 9, starting at 11:00 AM.
