Over 100 people turned out for a Freedom Rally in Henderson on Saturday afternoon.
The event, which started on Facebook, was for the freedom to choose whether or not to get vaccinated against Covid but organizers say the event was not anti-vaccine.
Many of those who attended the protest were healthcare workers or parents of students in the Henderson County School District.
Protesters were upset with Gov. Andy Beshear and other people in government for making masks mandatory and for allowing employers such as Deaconess and Tyson to require employees to get the vaccine.
"Let us choose. We worked all last year through the pandemic and we didn't have vaccines. We didn't have a choice. We bathed in it everyday, Covid. So let us choose," said one nurse in attendance.
The event started at 1 p.m. and was on the corner of 2nd St. and Green St. in Henderson.
