A wanted man from Virginia was recently arrested by state police in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky.
According to a news release from Kentucky State Police on Monday, the U.S. Marshals Service contacted KSP requesting assistance in locating a wanted Virginia man on Friday, Sept. 25.
Federal Marshals were trying to find 59-year-old John Johnston of Pearisburg, Virginia, who was believed to be in Muhlenberg County.
Troopers went to a residence in the 7000 block of State Route 189, where Johnston was located. KSP says Johnston tried to flee, but was caught after a brief foot pursuit.
Johnston was arrested and lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center, where he was charged with:
- Fugitive (Warrant not Required)
- Resisting Arrest
- Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree (On Foot)
