A fundraiser is being held in Evansville to support a Posey County deputy who was shot in the line of duty.
The fundraising event is being held at the Hacienda restaurant at 5440 Pearl Drive on Evansville's west side throughout the day Tuesday.
From 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, the restaurant will donate 20% of its proceeds to support Posey County Deputy Bryan Hicks and his family.
Even if you're not planning on sitting down to eat, you can still stop in and make a donation to support Deputy Hicks. A donation bin is available, and "Deputy Hicks" shirts can also be purchased during the fundraising event for $20 a piece.
Deputy Hicks was shot in the head in September while serving a welfare check. He has since undergone brain surgery and continues to recover.
Tuesday's fundraising effort at Hacienda was hosted by Mt. Vernon Lodge #133, which is the Posey County chapter for the Fraternal Order of Police of Indiana.
