University of Southern Indiana's soccer teams will have to take the field in spring of next year following a move by the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

On Monday, the GLVC announced that the fall sports of Football, Men's and Women's Soccer, and Volleyball will have their regular-season and GLVC Championships take place in the Spring of 2021.  The move was made following ongoing concerns of COVID-19 pandemic.  The decision was made based on guidance from the league's athletic directors, including USI.

Men's and women's golf and tennis will be allowed to compete in the fall during "non-championship segements" and continue their season into the Spring when their respective championship seasons begin.

Some winter sports, such as women's bowling, men's and women's swimming and diving, and men's and women's indoor track and field will be permittede to compete as scheduled.

The conference has set an October 1st deadline to determine the competition start date for Men's and Women's Basketball this season.

The Tri-State is about to witness a metric ton of change over the next 36 hours or so, but before we get to the meat of the forecast let's focus on the hearer and the now - after seeing an absolutely gorgeous start to the work week with afternoon highs nearing the 70° mark and little to no cloud cover, clear skies will linger through the evening ahead and into tomorrow morning as temperature gradually dwindle into the upper 30s and low 40s area-wide. We'll fall to 42° in Evansville setting the stage for yet another mild, albeit far less quiet Tuesday ahead.
