This Thanksgiving season, the American Red Cross and 44News are inviting the community to donate blood.

The potentially lifesaving act can help give patients more time with their loved ones during the holiday season.

The annual "Give Thanks, Give Life" Blood Drive is taking place Monday, November 22 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Red Cross on Stockwell Road in Evansville.

Donors of all blood types are welcomed, especially Type O.

To make an appointment call 1-800-Red-Cross or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter: GIVETHANKS to schedule. Walk-Ins are also welcomed.

All presenting donors will receive a T-shirt and refreshments from either Donut Bank, Texas Roundhouse, Olive Garden, or The Pie Pan, while supplies last.

Wow!!!! It's cold!!!! After a trace of snow in Evansville and some highe amounts to the south, we're waking up to temperatures in the mid to upper teens across the Tri-State. Thankfully, road crews did a fantastic job treating the roads to keep conditions from getting slick. However, the northerly winds gusting as high as 15 to 20 mph has dropped wind chill values into the single digits and even below zero in our western communities. There won't be much of an improvement in temperatures this afternoon. With the strong northerly wind flow and dry skies our highs will only reach the mid to upper 20s. Winds will stay quite breezy keeping the wind chill factor in place through the day.
