Gov. Holcomb Directs Flags to Half-Staff to Honor San Jose Shooting Victims

Per the president's order, flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Sunday, May 30, 2021.

Indiana's governor has directed flags across the state to be flown at half-staff in honor and remembrance of a mass shooting that happened in California Wednesday.

The shooting happened on Wednesday at a public transit rail yard in San Jose, California.

According to reports, at least eight people died as a result of the violence.

Per the president's order, flags should be flown at half-staff from now until sunset on Sunday, May 30, 2021.

Gov. Holcomb is also asking Hoosier businesses and residents to lower their flags to half-staff on that day.

The combination of sunshine and southerly winds will make for another abnormally mild day throughout the Ohio Valley - expect an afternoon high temperature near 69° this afternoon. Friday evening looks as though it will be just as pleasant; after seeing the upper 60s earlier in the day, we'll dip to 60° by 5 PM before falling towards 54° around 7 o’clock. We are however, watching a passing low pressure system and accompanying cold front that is expected to pass through the Tri-State late Friday evening and early Saturday morning.
