HART to Provide Free Transportation to New Henderson Vaccine Clinic

Free rides to the clinic will start Thursday and last 6 to 8 weeks.

The City of Henderson will provide free public transportation to the new Community Vaccination Center opening Thursday.

Henderson Area Rapid Transit (HART) will provide free, on-demand service to anyone that qualifies for the COVID-19 vaccine to the new clinic set up by Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The new Community Vaccination Center in Henderson will open on Thursday, April 29, and will operate for six to eight weeks. The center will provide vaccine services to 12 western Kentucky counties.

The Center will operate from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Tuesday through Saturday.

In addition to HART, GRITS will also make transportation available free of charge to the Center. Passengers must call 24 hours in advance of attending the vaccination center. Anyone interested in that service can call 1-800-816-3511 to schedule, or 270-686-1651.

The combination of sunshine and southerly winds will make for another abnormally mild day throughout the Ohio Valley - expect an afternoon high temperature near 69° this afternoon. Friday evening looks as though it will be just as pleasant; after seeing the upper 60s earlier in the day, we'll dip to 60° by 5 PM before falling towards 54° around 7 o’clock. We are however, watching a passing low pressure system and accompanying cold front that is expected to pass through the Tri-State late Friday evening and early Saturday morning.
