Starting next week, health profession students from Indiana University, the University of Evansville and the University of Southern Indiana will be helping here in Evansville.
All three of these universities partnered with the Habitat For Humanity of Evansville and Deaconess Health System to build three new homes in the neighborhood of Jacobsville.
Deaconess Health System has awarded $250,000 over 5 years to help build these homes.
Construction on Stephenie Stoner's home is expected to start in late October. Her and her two daughters will be moving in come January.
"I'm super grateful for the medical professionals putting in their time and sweat in to my home, and I'm grateful for Habitat. It's a wonderful program that teaches you a lot and equips you with the things you need to become a homeowner," said Stoner.
Visit the Habitat For Humanity of Evansville website for more information and how you can get involved.
