Thunderstorms and heavy rainfall hit multiple Tri-State communities late Monday into early Tuesday, with some areas seeing several inches of rain.
Some areas of Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, saw between four to six inches of rainfall overnight, and first responders, like the Greenville Fire Department, have responded to multiple water rescues on flooded roadways.
The fire department says other agencies around Muhlenberg County have been hard at work assisting stranded motorists, in addition to responding to homes that have been flooded as well.
Over at the Muhlenberg County High School, classes will be all-virtual Tuesday due to flooding.
Officials with the high school say the entrance to West Campus from the bypass is closed off due to heavy flooding.
Crews in the county have been working vigorously with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to post road closed and high water signs where they're needed.
The fire department says motorists should not attempt to drive through high waters.
