The Henderson County Public Library is currently hosting one Christmas event and preparing for another.

HCLP is preparing to host its "Christmas at the Library" event on Sunday, Dec. 5, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

During that event, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be welcoming guests, along with carolers from Henderson County High School and others.

There will also be snacks and crafts. The public is encouraged to wear their favorite festive attire or holiday pajamas.

HCPL is also currently hosting its "Giving Tree Village" program, which will run through Dec. 16.

For that event, the library is highlighting seven nonprofits in the Henderson community. Each organization has a "giving tree' and a wish list of items that they'd like to receive over the holiday season.

You can attend the Christmas at the Library event or stop by the library and pick up a giving tree wish list at 101 S Main St. in Henderson.

Wow!!!! It's cold!!!! After a trace of snow in Evansville and some higher amounts to the south, we're waking up to temperatures in the mid to upper teens across the Tri-State. Thankfully, road crews did a fantastic job treating the roads to keep conditions from getting slick. However, the northerly winds gusting as high as 15 to 20 mph has dropped wind chill values into the single digits and even below zero in our western communities. There won't be much of an improvement in temperatures this afternoon. With the strong northerly wind flow and dry skies our highs will only reach the mid to upper 20s. Winds will stay quite breezy keeping the wind chill factor in place through the day.
