Following Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear's recommendation to delay in-person instruction in all Kentucky schools until Sept. 28, schools within the Henderson County Schools (HCS) district will start the school year on Aug. 26 with non-traditional instruction (NTI), not in-person class as originally planned.

Alongside the beginning of the school year with NTI, HCS is now offering meals for students in the district.

The meals will include lunch, as well as breakfast and lunch for the following day.

Meals will be available for pickup at all HCS elementary school locations on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Tables will be set up near the school entrance or car rider line where families will receive the meals.

HCS says parents/guardians that would like to receive the meals must complete the HCS: Meal Pick Up Registration form.

In order to be eligible to receive the meals, parents will need to provide their child's HCS student ID number during registration and list the name of the person that will be picking up the meals. Whoever picks up the meals will be required to show their own ID as well.
