A Henderson man was arrested after police say he shot his girlfriend while she was driving through an apartment complex.
Police say 24-year-old Isaiah Johnson shot his girlfriend twice while he was in the passenger seat and she was behind the wheel. They were driving through the Henderson Station Apartments Wednesday night. According to investigators, the woman showed up to Deaconess Henderson hospital with gunshot wounds to both legs that night. She told investigators at the hospital that she was shot while walking her dog. She could not tell police where her dog or vehicle were located at the time.
It was later discovered her boyfriend shot her. She later told police she was driving Johnson around in her car and he became angry because she would not let her drive.
Police attempted to pull over Johnson the day after the shooting. He fled from officers while driving the victim's car. Johnson was eventually arrested and booked into the Henderson County Detention Center. He is facing several charges including fleeing law enforcement and assualt.
