Police say warming up your car before heading out onto snowy roads could be dangerous.

On Monday, the Henderson Police Department reported a stolen vehicle after a man left his car running outside to warm it up before heading to work.

A Henderson man started his car to warm it up before heading to work, and when he came back outside to leave, the vehicle was missing.

Luckily, officers observed the stolen 2004 White Dodge Durango travelling Northbound on Green Street. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.

The driver of the stolen car was Corey Hope. Hope was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle and operating on a suspended license.

Henderson Police say this is a great reminder to be careful when leaving your car running and unattended during this winter storm in an attempt to warm it up.
