Natural gas prices across the country have been on the rise for several months, leading officials with Henderson Municipal Gas in Henderson, Kentucky, to issue a warning.

They want to let customers know that they should expect an increase in the natural gas portion of their bills.

They estimate consumers will see a 40% to 50% increase during the winter heating season.

Officials added, increased usage of natural gas in power production, combined with warmer temperatures over the summer have driven up demand.

An early cold snap could drive the price even higher.

Our third day in a row with very mild temperatures. Highs across the Tri-State were in the low and middle 60's. A few showers at times crossed the area. A cold front will push through the Tri-State and will cause a few strong storms, that could have strong winds and even some torrential rain. Some flash flooding is a possibility. Strong winds overnight switching from the southwest to the northwest and may gust as high as 30 mph.
