The Hopkins County Health Department said on Thursday that citations had been issued to several area businesses for not following Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear's statewide mask mandate.

According to the health department, the businesses were cited either because employees weren't wearing masks, or because the businesses weren't requiring customers to wear masks.

HCHD said citations were issued to the following businesses:

  • EZ Mart
  • Gill’s Fuel Mart
  • Marco’s Pizza
  • Wick’s Well
  • YMCA
  • Catering and Creations Express 1
  • Sonic N. Main
  • S. Main Diner

Gov. Beshear's statewide mask mandate went into effect on July 10 and has since been extended several times

Hopkins County Sheriff Matt Sanderson said back in July that the Health Department had set up a phone line for "non-compliance with the Governor's order" as he urged the public not to call 911 on violators of the governor's mandate.
