Hopkins County Reports New COVID-19 Death

Another Hopkins County has passed away from COIVD-19, the Hopkins County Health Department reported on Thursday.

An additional COVID-19 death was reported in Kentucky's Hopkins County on Thursday, Sept. 17.

The Hopkins County Health Department reported the new death on Thursday, marking the 38th total COVID-19 death within the county so far.

HCHD also reported two new positive cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the number of identified positive COVID-19 cases in the county to date to 576 in total.

The health department says 75 of the county's total COVID-19 cases are tied to long term care, while 501 are not.

So far, 473 Hopkins County residents have recovered from COVID-19, showing a recovery rate of 82.11% in the county.

Before Thursday's update, the local health department reported the last COVID-19 death in the county on Sept. 14.

The Tri-State is about to witness a metric ton of change over the next 36 hours or so, but before we get to the meat of the forecast let's focus on the hearer and the now - after seeing an absolutely gorgeous start to the work week with afternoon highs nearing the 70° mark and little to no cloud cover, clear skies will linger through the evening ahead and into tomorrow morning as temperature gradually dwindle into the upper 30s and low 40s area-wide. We'll fall to 42° in Evansville setting the stage for yet another mild, albeit far less quiet Tuesday ahead.
