TODAY: We’re soaring back into the 90s, but it’s going to be feeling more like the mid to upper 90s. The added heat and humidity could fuel some isolated showers and storms through the afternoon and early-evening. This activity could add some short-term relief from the heat. Otherwise, it’s going to be typical summer-like weather in the Tri-State this week.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy skies with dry conditions. Overnight lows will drop into the low 70s. Winds will stay on the calm side.

REST OF THE WEEK: Shower and storm chances will increase more through the week. In fact the combination of our next inbound cold front and the remnants of Elsa could give of widespread storm chances by the mid to later part of this week. One thing that is certain, the heat and humidity will be with us in through the extended forecast.

Today's high temperature of 87° was our warmest in a week and a half - we last climbed that high on the afternoon of September 18th when we tipped the scales at 88°. The remainder of the evening will remain quite mild under clear skies; expect temperatures to first fall to 83° by dinnertime before dropping to 73° by 10PM. The clear skies and weak southerly wind flow will help keep temperatures relatively stable during the overnight and predawn hours - we'll wake up to a morning low of just 62° early Wednesday morning.
