A two-story home in the 100 block of East Louisiana Street caught fire late Tuesday night.

Dispatch received the call just before midnight. After crews arrived at the home on East Louisiana Street, they discovered flames towards the back of the structure.

Officials say no one was injured, as the owners of the home were not at the residence.

Unfortunately, several pets were impacted. One dog fled the house when firefighters entered and another was treated by emergency responders. Reports say a parrot died.

Reports say the fire started in the back of the home, spreading up to the second floor.

EFD says the fire was determined to be electrical in nature and will be ruled accidental.

Our third day in a row with very mild temperatures. Highs across the Tri-State were in the low and middle 60's. A few showers at times crossed the area. A cold front will push through the Tri-State and will cause a few strong storms, that could have strong winds and even some torrential rain. Some flash flooding is a possibility. Strong winds overnight switching from the southwest to the northwest and may gust as high as 30 mph.
