The recent rise in COVID-19 cases have been a growing concern among doctors who say the Delta Variant is running rampant in the region.
With events taking place throughout the Tri-State, and bars and restaurants expecting big crowds on weekend nights, 44News wanted to know if people shared a concern when going out on a night in town.
Evansville resident Juanita James, said ever since getting vaccinated she's felt safer than ever.
"I got the shot, I got my two shots and I feel comfortable with that." said James.
The same goes for Evansville resident, Ashley Adkins, who said although she has worries when going out she's ready for things to get back to normal.
"I don't really feel nervous, I'm vaccinated and I'm honestly like over it all so I just want to like have a good time and live my life," said Adkins. "I was very religious with the mask. I wasn't one of those that was like no, I'm not wearing a mask. I believe it's a real thing but I'm just ready to be normal again."
With more people getting vaccinated, the anxiety once felt about going out is no longer there, despite COVID-19 cases rising.
Many are dependent on their vaccinated status.
