The Indiana State Police say a 21-year-old Oakland City woman was arrested after a brief chase Friday afternoon.

According to a release from ISP, a trooper spotted a 2006 Cadillac traveling north at 90 mph on SR 57 near Summerville.

ISP says the Sgt. tried to stop the driver, but they continued north at a high speed, before eventually hitting a tree and coming to a stop.

Troopers then arrested Johanna Dersche, 21, of Oakland City.

When troopers searched her vehicle, they say they found a small amount of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Dersche was charged with resisiting law enforcement, a level 6 felony, among several other drug charges.

She was taken to the Gibson County Jail.

Wow!!!! It's cold!!!! After a trace of snow in Evansville and some highe amounts to the south, we're waking up to temperatures in the mid to upper teens across the Tri-State. Thankfully, road crews did a fantastic job treating the roads to keep conditions from getting slick. However, the northerly winds gusting as high as 15 to 20 mph has dropped wind chill values into the single digits and even below zero in our western communities. There won't be much of an improvement in temperatures this afternoon. With the strong northerly wind flow and dry skies our highs will only reach the mid to upper 20s. Winds will stay quite breezy keeping the wind chill factor in place through the day.
