An early Saturday morning chase lands an Evansville man behind bars on several charges.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office says they were notified shortly before 1:30 a.m. that Posey County Sheriff's deputies were chasing a vehicle into Vanderburgh County. Officials say it was reported they suspected the driver was impaired.

Deputies say on multiple occasions the driver, later identified as Brandon Davis, swerved towards authorities nearly striking them as they were trying to deploy tire deflation devices.

Deputies say two of Davis' tires were eventually deflated.

We're told Davis appeared to be under the influence when he was taken into custody, and deputies found methamphetamine in the vehicle.

Davis was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail.
