Indiana Reports 582 New Positive Cases of COVID-19

On Monday, Aug 3, there were 582 new positive cases of COVID-19 reported throughout the Hoosier State.

582 new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported throughout Indiana on Monday by the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH).

According to ISDH, that brought the total number of Hoosiers known to have contracted COVID-19 to date to 68,433 total, since ISDH recorded Indiana's first positive case of the virus on March 6. Indiana's county with the highest number of total positive cases was Marion County, at 14,863 total.

ISDH also reported five new COVID-19 deaths on Monday, bringing Indiana's COVID-19 death toll to 2,780 total.

To date, 775,482 tests for unique individuals have been reported to ISDH, up from 769,043 on Sunday. That shows a statewide positivity rate of 8.8% in Indiana (the number of total individuals tested divided by the number of total positive cases).

As of Monday, there were 39.2% of ICU beds and 84.7% of ventilators available statewide, ISDH said.
