The Indiana State Department of Health said Friday that 1,136 new positive cases of COVID-19 had been identified throughout the state, bringing to 682,099 the total number of Hoosiers known to have tested positive for the virus to date.
It's been nearly a month since the Hoosier State has seen over 1,000 new positive cases of the virus in a single day, with 1,222 new positive cases of COVID-19 reported statewide on March 5.
While 1,136 new positive cases of the virus were reported throughout the state on Friday, case increases in southwest Indiana remained low, according to ISDH.
Here are the cases increases reported in our area Friday:
- Vanderburgh County: 19 new cases
- Dubois County: 9 new cases
- Warrick County: 7 new cases
- Spencer County: 5 new cases
- Perry County: 4 new cases
- Gibson County: 2 new cases
- Posey County: 2 new cases
- Daviess County: 2 new cases
- Knox County: 1 new case
- Pike County: 0 new cases
While no new COVID-19 deaths were identified locally on Friday, ISDH said that 20 new COVID-19 deaths had been identified throughout the state.
Now, 12,596 total Indiana residents are confirmed to have died from COVID-19 to date, according to ISDH.
