Indiana Reports 688 New Positive COVID-19 Cases, 5 New Deaths

On Monday, 688 new positive cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the state of Indiana, in addition to five new COVID-19 deaths - two of which were reported locally.

688 new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported in the Hoosier State on Monday by the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH).

This brought the total number of Indiana residents known to have contracted COVID-19 to date to 87,592.

Since the first Hoosier was tested for the virus on Feb. 26, a total of 1,002,038 Indiana residents have now been tested for COVID-19 - showing a positivity rate of 8.74% throughout the state.

With five new COVID-19 deaths reported on Monday by ISDH, 3,008 total Hoosiers are now confirmed to have died from COVID-19 to date, since the first novel coronavirus death was recorded in the state on March 15.

Two of the five new COVID-19 deaths in the state were reported locally, with one occurring in Dubois County, and the other in Daviess County.

As of Monday, 43.9% of ICU beds and 83.7% of ventilators were available statewide, according to ISDH.
