Indiana Reports Seven New Local COVID-19 Deaths Wednesday

The state health department said Wednesday that six new COVID-19 deaths had been identified in the 44News viewing area.

The Indiana State Department of Health's Wednesday report shows seven new COVID-19 deaths in the 44News viewing area.

New deaths were reported in Vanderburgh, Gibson, Posey, Spencer, and Daviess counties, with new positive cases of the virus also reported in each of our local counties.

Here are the local increase reported by ISDH Wednesday:

  • Vanderburgh County: 46 new cases, 2 new deaths
  • Gibson County: 34 new cases, 2 new deaths
  • Posey County: 5 new cases, 1 new death
  • Spencer County: 11 new cases, 1 new death
  • Daviess County: 21 new cases, 1 new death
  • Knox County: 62 new cases
  • Dubois County: 9 new cases
  • Warrick County: 7 new cases
  • Pike County: 3 new cases
  • Perry County: 1 new case

Overall, there were 2,023 new positive cases of COVID-19 reported throughout the state of Indiana Wednesday. That brought the total number of Hoosiers now known to have tested positive for COVID-19 to 1,003,647.

With 51 new deaths reported statewide on Wednesday, ISDH says that 15,883 Hoosiers have died from the virus to date.
