Mount Vernon High School's leaders have announced prom has been canceled for this year.
The district announced the decision Friday evening.
Leaders say, with ongoing coronavirus concerns and uncertainty over where things will stand in the spring, they made the decision early to save students and parents money.
But the call still remains tough for seniors hoping for that usually-yearly event
