A Henderson County Detention Center (HCDC) inmate is now in quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19.

Henderson County Jailer Amy Brady says the inmate was recently transferred to HCDC from a facility in Pensacola, Florida.

According to Brady, the inmate, who tested positive on Saturday, is the facility's first COVID-19 case.

Luckily, Brady said the inmate was tested before being admitted to HCDC - reducing the likelihood that any other inmates were exposed to the virus.

As of Monday throughout Henderson County, there were 284 total confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 and four total COVID-19 deaths.
